When was the last time that you wanted to do something that you’re not “supposed” to do?

I have an acronym for B.A.D:
B = Break free from your routine
A = Act silly
D = Do some fun crazy stuff!!”
“Sometimes, we just want and need to be BAD. I call this: Rebellious Inner Child Syndrome. It’s a way of rebelling against outside people and things or our own rules, old ideas and “shoulds”. Sometimes we just want and need to break free, act silly and do something fun or crazy. We need to loosen up, let go and veer from our usual routines and paths.
Most people don’t like being told what to do (by others or themselves). Tantrums occur at all ages in many different ways.
I remember reading a long time ago about a woman who veered from her eating plan and her husband questioned her about it. Her reply, “I’m having a fit”.
Most people feel controlled by other people, circumstances and/or themselves. Essentially, the majority of us feel controlled and/or trapped in at least one area of our lives. So, we have mechanisms in place to rebel, break free and try to gain some control, relief and pleasure. Some of these mechanisms may be outdated, dysfunctional or self-destructive.
Recently, my friend told me that she wanted to create a life that she didn’t need a vacation from.
It’s very easy to get into a pattern of allowing other people and things to make our decisions and live our lives for us rather than actually living our own lives.
Here’s how to make some positive changes and satisfy the desires of your inner child.
1. The first thing to do is to admit that you need adventures, pleasure and rest in your life.
2. Then, this one is often the trickiest for people because it involves a belief shift, give yourself permission to have the adventures, pleasure and rest.
3. The last thing is to decide on something, schedule it (extremely important) and do it.
I want to leave you with a few statements to chew on…..
** You deserve to experience pleasure.
** You deserve to relax.
**You deserve to have adventures.
**You deserve to have fun.
**In fact, these are all necessary and important things for us.
